The Seatylock’s team knows best how to combine creativity with daily practicality. Their first crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter in  September 2014 has achieved a great success. Now they have decided to launch another great product, The Seatylock Gel that meets urban bikers’ needs.

Seatylock is a patented product that doubles as a bicycle seat and a bicycle lock in one. Basically, it’s a sturdy, folding bike lock featuring a unique structure that forms a seat. It connects to the bicycle’s seat post with a special universal adaptor.

When mounted on top of the seat post it functions like a regular bike seat. Following a few easy steps, the Seatylock unfolds and turns into a one-meter long lock. This enables easy locking of the frame and wheel to an external fixed object.

With Seatylock there’s no need to carry a lock or worry about theft of your seat. Attached tightly to the seat post, Seatylock gives a hassle free ride and actually gives the sensation of riding without a lock.

The Seatylock Gel has a universal adaptor that enables easy compatibility with any standard bicycle. After a simple installation, it can be adjusted to your preferred seat position.

The Seatylock Gel’s Features

The idea behind the new product was to meet urban riders needs. Seatylock’s first batch collection was combined with two basic sizes, divided into 2 different styles for a total of 16 models. The company is listening to its customers and has designed an extremely comfortable bike saddle.

The seat is integrated with 2 special compound Gel pads designed to distribute and reduce the stress on the lower pelvic bones. Riding with the gel seat is much more comfortable, so time and distance can be increased significantly.

The product package comes with one seatylock, a universal adaptor, a user manual, and three keys plus duplication card. The lock is 100 cm (39.4 In) long and weighs 1,5 kg (3.3 Ib).

How to Install Seatylock?

Seatylock installation is as easy as replacing your bicycle seat. Each Seatylock comes with a universal adaptor that enables easy compatibility to any standard bike on the market. The Seatylock adaptor enables the rider to fit the Seatylock to his preferred riding position – backward or forward and upward or downward.

First, you have to disassemble your old bike saddle from your seat post. No worries, saddle and adaptor rails are of universal standard. The Seatylock adaptor connects the same as any saddle. Attach the adaptor on the seat post.

Please note that saddle post clamps may vary. Then, adjust the seat to your preferred riding position and tighten all fasteners. Voila, the seat is ready to use.

From Saddle to Lock

An operation cannot be easier and it takes 10 seconds or even less! Follow these simple steps to convert your seat into a solid lock. First, lift the lever. Pull base and open to 180°. Then, create a circle, turn clockwise, and pull the link. Insert link to base, and counterclockwise.

If you want to switch your lock to the saddle simply turn clockwise, pull link, insert link to a base and counterclockwise. Next, close to 180° and fold link to base. Place a Seatylock, close the lever and you can ride your bike again.

Additionally, the Seatylock enables users to customize the seat. You can change or replace the saddle in case of wear and tear or simply to change styles. Just, unscrew both bolts. Release Seatylock body from a saddle, insert front latch and screw both bolts tightly in place.

How to Get The Seatylock Gel?

As before, the Seatylock Team is crowdfunding their new product on Kickstarter. The campaign has already reached the goal but you can still back the project. You can pre-order one Seatylock Gel for $85 (around 68 €) or two for $160 (around 125 €) and save up to $110 (around 88 €).
