If you are a big fan of plates and eco-friendly products, Alphapot is a perfect choice for you. Bionicraft, the laboratory composed of biologists, botanists, landscape designers, and architects has designed a unique bionic product and developing eco integrated system solutions. Based on an extended biological observation they have created a 100% biodegradable plant pot. This innovative product not only shed new light on food waste but also propose a great way to reduce plastic usage under your own roof.

For the Love of Nature

Traditional gardening requires an equipment made of plastic, clay or other synthetic materials. Combing this approach with green methods seems to be a bit undoable. Luckily, Bionicraft took much more eco-friendly direction and has invented the product which allows growing plants in the natural environment.

The company has crafted Alphapot from food waste that has been compressed and dried. It allows to plant these pots directly with your flower or plant and easily biodegrades in the soil. Thereby, at the same time, you eliminate the plastic use and help to reduce and repurpose food waste.

The Power of Upcycling

Upcycling Alphapot

The idea behind upcycling is quite simple. It is the process of transforming by-products, waste materials or unwanted products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value. The best and the easiest way to create something new and valuable is using food waste.

Food waste is given a new life when sent to the repurposing factory instead of landfills or incinerators. After going through the processes of mixing, drying, and pressing, a new biodegradable material is born, transforming the vicious food waste cycle into a virtuous one. This is how Bionicraft brought Alphapot to life.

Responsible Design

Modular design

Landscape architects have designed Alphapot with a round base to hold a plant from a standard 4-inch (approx. 10 cm). The square opening feature allows pots to interconnect. The engravings around the base area of the pot enable Alphapot to decompose back into nature more efficiently.

Bionicraft has invented a product which can hold water in a corner reservoir of the pot and together with a wick system that extends into the reservoir. Now your plant will draw just the right amount of water needed to feed itself.

Beside that, this self-watering system works for any plant. It is taking the worries off your shoulders and giving you the green thumb. Just remember to keep the Alphapot reservoir full. 😉

Aside from being completely sustainable, these pots are also modular. You can combine them in endless ways to build an oasis for any space. This is the enjoyable way to create your personal garden.

Return to the Roots

Zero waste policy Alphapot

Alphapot is 100% biodegradable so you can easily transfer your plant to the garden. In six to twelve months, the pot will break down into the soil. Actually, that grooved design at the bottom of the pot is there to help it break down. The pot becomes nutrients for your plant to grow. This is a great way to return it to nature.

Undoubtedly, the Bionicraft Alphapot flower pots have a natural, inviting look and feel. They are perfect for keeping greenery in your home in a completely sustainable manner, as well.

Currently, an early bird of this product is available on Kickstarter. The two-in-one Alphapot set includes two pots and two strings. Last but not least, the pot comes in three colors: Earthy Beige, Vege Green and Fruity Yellow. Further, you can still buy it for $28. These astonishing pots will ship this December. Hurry up!
